Spellbooks are one-handed equipment designed primarily for Sorcerers and Druids. They are equipped in the shield slot and can display a player’s learned Spells when used. Since the Summer 8.2 Update, spellbooks not only enhance a Mage's Magic Level but also offer additional defense and elemental protection.

Compared to traditional Shields, spellbooks provide much lower defense, making them less suitable for solo hunts where the user frequently takes hits. However, they are highly valuable in team hunts or when protection and magic bonuses outweigh raw defense.

Below shows the best shields for Sorcerers and Druids:

• For Sorcerers level 400 and higher, the best spellbook is the Arcanomancer Folio (Def:22, magic level +5, fire magic level +1, energy magic level +1, protection physical +3%, fire +8%).
• For Druids level 400 and higher, the best spellbook is the Arboreal Tome (Def:22, magic level +5, healing magic level +1, ice magic level +1, protection physical +4%, energy +6%).
