Version 6.0 Beta

This update brought the first version of the current website, as well as many graphical changes.

• Tibia.com was improved with a better structure and a brand-new forum.
• Many old graphics were replaced^[1]:
  • Many weapons, items and creatures by Mantus.
  • Trees, bushes and stones by King Crimson.
  • Elleshar and Ralgar works on CipSoft's list of missing objects.
  • Objects for an upcoming area by Aureus.
  • Knightmare, Conaria, Wastl, Lomaxx, Apoc and many others on unpublished additional work.

• It is no longer possible to have multiple clients running on the same computer.
• The server has been moved to a new location, enabling better communication.
• The names of ignored users may now also include the wildcards '*' (stands for arbitrarily many characters) and '?' (stands for exactly one character).
• For security reasons, the password will no longer be saved in the preferences; it will be displayed for the last time when you start the new client.
• A new technique shall reduce the so called screen-bugs.

Christmas Update 2000

This update introduced several new areas and new creatures were added.

• Platinum Coin is now accepted as payment by NPCs.
• The Poisoned status condition was added.
• New areas were created, although they still didn't have their modern names:
  • Kazordoon, the 'Dwarves' Mountain' (by Knightmare)
  • Jakundaf Desert (by Ciryon and Lord Harry)
  • Ulderek's Rock (by Muesli)
  • Rookgaard, the 'Newbie Island', was expanded to the Northwest (by Knightmare)
  • Green Claw Swamp (by Aureus)
  • Femor Hills (by Wastl and Conaria)
• Priests were added to towns.
• A bug with Ladders has been fixed so they will no longer disappear when many items are placed on the same tile; this prevents trapping players through this method.
• It is no longer possible to push other players into magic fields or down a hole.

The introduction of the Criminal Record and the ability to complain about entries, increased abilities for Gamemasters, and the introduction of Counsellors

• From now on, there is a criminal record for all players that have been banished.
• The ability to file a complain about gamemaster actions was added.
• Counsellors were introduced, appointed by gamemasters to investigate and report violations of the rules.
• You can ignore broadcasts by typing "#I #B" and yells by entering "#I #Y". Unignore them with "#U" accordingly.

This update introduced the Premium System, Edron and the Housing System.

• Players are now able to buy Premium Time to get extra benefits.
• The island of Edron was added. The first premium-only area.
• The first premium spells were added.
• Houses were introduced to the game.

Further announced for the same patch on November 20, 2001:

• Added four new guildhalls that belong to Carlin and Kazordoon.
• Minor changes and bugfixes (e.g. you cannot put items on beds any longer).
• Increased strength of Demons.

The second server Nova was introduced as well as the island of Cormaya and other areas.

• The world previously known as just "Tibia" was renamed Antica.
• The new world Nova was created.
• An account number and password were first required in order to login to the game.

• The Ice Islands and Fields of Glory were expanded with new quests.

Introduced the Guilds System, vocation promotions and Gamemasters

• Guilds can now be created and joined to on Tibia.com
• Vocation Promotions were introduced, you can now become an Elite Knight, Elder Druid, Royal Paladin or Master Sorcerer from King Tibianus or Queen Eloise.
• New spells were introduced.
• The Creature AI was improved.
• Gamemasters were introduced.

• A new world, Premia, was created. It can only be accessed by premium players.

As announced on April 5, 2002:

• Several changes at the monsters were made. Most importantly, the dragons have been redesigned.

As announced on June 14, 2002:

• The continent of Darama (sans Ankrahmun) was introduced.
  • A new hometown Darashia, with new houses.
