tibia

Damage is applied when players or creatures are hit by attacks, causing the loss of Hitpoints (or Mana when protected by Magic Shield or an Energy Ring). Sources include weapon attacks, spells, runes, or environmental hazards like quest or boss mechanics. Understanding how damage is delivered and mitigated helps players choose optimal armor, shielding, and combat strategies.

Overview

There are three main categories of damage:

Blocking and Mitigation

Special Cases

Most offensive spells and runes deal magical damage. Exceptions that deal physical damage include the Explosion Runes and spells such as Physical Strike. Some runes and spells apply additional effects, such as Life Drain, Poison, or Agony.

Damage Colors

Each damage type appears with a distinct color in the game client, allowing quick identification. While Magic Shield or an Energy Ring is active, damage transferred to mana will use the mana/mana-drain color.
