Autowalking in tibia refers to clicking on a point on your automap or game window and leaving your character to walk there without using the arrow keys. However, there is a range to the distance you can walk with one click, if it is too far you will see a white message at the bottom of the screen saying "Destination out of range". Usually, any point on the automap is in range, unless you have moved the map by the compass to the right of the minimap or the way is partially heading to different directions than destination, in this case, even though the point was within range in the moment you clicked on the map, your character will stop moving by the moment destination is out of range.
Benefits
- Walking for long distances, on quests for example; relieves you from having to manually guide your character to where you're going.
- Talking while walking, as you can only type, or press the arrow keys to move, so autowalking saves times.
- Running from a creature you dont want to face, autowalking appears to be faster than manual walking because you dont run into objects so you save time.
Drawbacks
- You could fall into holes if you pass over them, only the ones that are not visible though, not stair holes, or open stone piles.. etc.
- If you are walking through a narrow passage (e.g. Kazordoon mountain passageway between the southern part of the Tibian continent and the northern part, here) and someone comes through it at the other side, your character will automatically change direction and try to find another way around, which doesnt usually exist and could take you somewhere totally different until it gives you the "There is no way." message. this can also be very dangerous at times as it can take you to places with stronger monsters if you're not watching where your character is going.
Note
Some items in game can be stepped on if you do it manually i.e. click on them in game window or use arrow keys to get ontop of them, however they can block your way if you are autowalking. As an example; standing at your depot locker with a parcel behind you; you can step on it manually then move anywhere but if you click on your automap, it will tell you there is no way.
Some items that you cannot autowalk over but can walk over if done manually:
- All Chairs
- Some tables like Bamboo Table
- Barrels
- Boxes
- Drawers
- Flower Bowl
- God Flower
- Honey Flower
- Parcel
Hint
Autowalking saves time and gives your hands a break, also allows you to talk while travelling on foot, but try to not do it unless you're watching where your character is going.
