Magic Level Required?
Is it true that there is a required magic level to cast spells? My impression of the summer 2005 update was that magic level did not restrict you from casting spells... only exp level.
Can anyone verify this? I don't have any lower-level characters to try it with.

Well my understanding is you need a certain Magic Level to perform the spell and a certain level for the minimum mana to do the spell. So one needs lvl and ml.--DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 18:36, 17 April 2006 (CDT) 15:43, 16 June 2006 (PDT)
Minimum level for spells is not connected with amount of mana. Both with instant spells (eg. exori flam) and runic spells (eg. UH). Same impression as Whitelaces - that only exp level is important. --Jura--
I got one question: Does this spell hits harder than eternal winter of a druid?
I saw the 2 uses 1200 mana, do they hit the same?

Me, a druid close to level 70 with ml 65-66, another druid level 90s magic level 67-68 and a sorc level 65 ish with around magic level 65 were hitting each other with ues some time ago... My best with eternal winter was around 380, the other druid was close to 400 and the sorc hit over 400 twice.. Maybe us druids were just unlucky with our hits but I believe that sorcerers do hit more. beejay 20:23, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
