Their attacks are brutal, their resilience formidable, and their very presence inspires dread. The method of their creation has long been lost, known only to the eldest bonelords. Some believe it required the sacrifice of entire tribes to forge even a single Crypt Fiend. When one appears, it is a sure sign that the soil has been disturbed by the most forbidden rites.
