A Barrier, introduced with 2026 Vocations Adjustment, is a way to protect Druids and Sorcerers from lethal damage. When incoming damage would exceed their current HP, the character is set to 1 HP and the remaining damage is converted into mana damage with an 8x multiplier. If there is not enough mana to absorb the converted damage, the character dies.
There is no cooldown for this effect, as long as the character has enough mana to block lethal attacks, the damage will keep draining their mana. The Server Log shows when the effect was activated: You lose 296 mana due to an attack by a gang member. (Mana Buffer).
